  Tuse this for email and Word docs. The 13355 handles it fine. Windows 11 runs okay with 6GB RAM. Not for gaming, but for the price it does what | need. Quiet too.

  Amazingly capable little computer beast

  We regularly acquire mini PCs in our office to test out enterprise network software in a controlled environment. This BMAX MaxMini B2 mini PC seems just right for my next project, and after using it a couple of days, I'm impressed.

  (See my video for setup and initial use)

  The packaging looks nice with a gaming theme although I wouldn’t recommend this PC for gaming. Inside the box is the mini PC, HDMI cable, VESA mount adapter, and power supply. The device is very light yet looks very premium. I love how glossy the top cover is of this mini PC, it looks very nice, but is horribly a fingerprint magnet. The device has enough air vents to cool down this little beast. I like that the amount of IO ports on this computer is just enough as a casual productivity device as well as an entertainment device. Initial setup was very quick and easy, I was able to get it running in just a few minutes. Once logged in, Windows will perform major updates, and that will take a little while to finish. I suggest to just let it run for a couple of hours so as not to interrupt whatever you need to do. Once the updates were finished, I was able to load productivity and office apps very easily. This device was also able to play 4K videos without any issues. Great for media consumption. The quad core CPU is very capable of handling multi-tasking office apps and I was able to load at least 4 apps without any performance issues. The 8GB memory is the sweet spot for office computers these days, anything lower than that can be an issue with multi-tasking. I also opened up the device and for this model there are 2x M.2 slots, one of the slots (in use) is M.2 SSD, and the extra one is M.2 NVME. The NVME slot is great if you need a faster SSD later on. I also noticed that this model has 2.5 SATA bracket on the cover to install a 2.5 drive, but I could not find any SATA port nor did this include any SATA cable for expansion, but that’s fine for me as I don’t plan on using a 2.5 inch drive.

  I intend to use this device with Linux in our labs, and installing Linux on this computer is a breeze. All the hardware were detected (using Linux Mint) and functioning properly (including Bluetooth and WiFi). In a Linux environment, everything in this computer feels faster and snappy compared to Windows. Linux also has a better memory management and I was able to load more apps at the same time without encountering any issues. In all my testing the temperatures in this computer is just averaging at around 60 degrees Celsius, that is pretty cool in current standards considering how small this device is.

  So far, I am very impressed with the performance of this little beast. I intend to use this as a headless console for software development, and the performance far exceed for what I need. If you are looking for an office computer with a very small footprint, this mini PC is an excellent option.

  Was able to screw it onto the back of a 32' TV which i use as primary screen, and have added a second screen to the side for the Zoom (I teach from home). I have tried the option to add a third screen and that worked great. It does get warmer that i thought, though it hasnt gotten terribly hot yet. The 12Gb RAM makes handling documents a breeze ( I use 100+ page Powerpoint files which stress most systems, not this one), and with the addition of a windows camera this is perfect for teachign from home.

  I am not an avid gamer so the few strategies games I play work just perfectly. probably wouldnt run latest/greatest games as the Arc Iris graphics processing unit is not on par with the typical gamer video card, but it is good enough to play Skyrim.

  It arrived (really fast shipping to Costa Rica!) with windows 11 pre-installed, and ready to go. I turned it on, added details to creat emy account, and installed my own version of MS Office 365, Zoom and Chrome etc, and was ready to go in about 30-40 minutes.

  The best thing about this is its size, and the punch it packs for the size. I have 2 portable LCDs screen (15' and 11'), and when travelling I take the 2 screens, this computer and a wireless keyboard mouse combo, which work as well as and takes a little less space that my 15' laptop! I woudfl highly recommend such a small computer to anyone sitting on the fence, and this particular one (the BMAX B6) seems to be the best buy, and a greta sweet-spot above the cheesy-low powered ones and below the pricey ones. In fact there are many that perform worse than this (like N100, N95, etc) that sell for more here on Amazon.

  got this for mom. i built her a PC 15 years ago and it was so slow, got this, easy peasey lemon squeezy. HDMI to a 10 year old monitor, USB 4 ports for KB/wireless mouse and speaker power, it's so small, not noisy, and has a small fan to cool things down. it's been on 24/7 for days, no issues. I pulled up resource heavy sites like twitch, no problem. it's not a modern laptop, but for those with a few tasks per day, not an issue. i recommend this easily. it won't crunch numbers on excel quickly, you don't want to edit video or audio, but you could with some wait time. i am shocked at how well this little guy performs. for 95 bucks, no brainer.

  This was the most expensive paperweight ever. It turns on, but takes SEVERAL minutes to even open an icon or tab, then randomly stutters and shuts off. I reached out to BMax on THREE SEPARATE days starting the day I received the junk computer to try get my issue resolved and over a week later and STILL NO RESPONSE from BMax. I 100% DO NOT RECOMMEND. I WANT A FULL REFUND.

  Guess I wait and see but not impressed so far

  I purchased this to use as a web server on my home network (exposed to WAN) for some small personal projects I have created. Initially I was pretty stoked since everything seemed to work well right out of the box. Unfortunately, it did not take long for things to go really South.

  First off, I configured everything in my modem/router to allow a port 8080 redirect to this system since I need to be able to connect from outside my home network. That was surprisingly painless but when I woke up the next morning, I had 22 notifications from my modem/router about blocked security breaches, every last one was for this new PC & at least 75% of them were from China or that general region. Don't get me wrong, I am fully aware of the fact that there are an amazing number of bored individuals in the world who sit around scanning for 'open ports' on any IP address they can find, however, this is not my first rodeo, and I am WAY more technical than 99% of the world and I have never seen this before.

  This also is not the first time I have opened up port 8080 on a home 'server' but it is the first time my modem/router went ballistic blocking potential intrusions. I will not say for certain since I do not have the data to back it up, but my first instinct was that this PC was 'calling home' letting 'others' know it was online and available to be compromised.

  Unfortunately, things only got worse from there. On day two, the 'Windows Search' functionality completely stopped working and as I attempted to deploy 'normal' .NET applications to the PC I would get 'side by side' errors. If I clicked on search, it would pop-up for a second and then disappear which makes it really difficult to navigate Windows 11 (which is junk by the way, I really wish this PC came with Windows 10). I tried to restore Windows from the image on disk but that completely failed because whatever 'image' is installed on this thing is not conducive to being restored evidently.

  I downloaded the 'Windows 11 Media Creation Tool' in an attempt to fix whatever was wrong with Windows, that took at least 2 hours, but it appears that everything is working as expected again, I guess time will tell. Honestly, I am not trying to be a naysayer, I really want this little PC to work for my needs, however, the 'intrusion detections' are alarming and the fact that I had to repair Windows two days in certainly does not help either.

  I take exception to two things. One, regardless of opening port 8080, as a very seasoned software engineer, I have a hard time believing that 22 different IP addresses attempted to scan my new PC without some sort of advanced warning. Two, the vast majority of people who may purchase this PC do not have the technical knowledge I possess in order to fix the problems I had with Windows. Based solely on what I have seen thus far, unless you are very technical and can work through problems, I cannot recommend this PC even though I am still hoping that it will work well for me. I can deal with these issues but if you are more of a novice, you will only be left scratching your head with the problems I have seen already.

  *** Update 03/19/2023 ***

  Since using the 'Windows 11 Media Creation Tool' a month ago to fix things I have seen no issues from this little computer. I also ended up closing port 8080 and hosting my little site with a real web hosting service, at which point my router immediately ceased having to block intrusions. Honestly, I am not sure exactly what to make of that as it still seems strange that so many people would immediately attempt to hack into a residential IP address but I have no proof that this little computer was doing anything nefarious so I will just leave it at that.

  I am still leaving my review at 3-stars for now because even if I ignore the intrusions, which could have simply been from me opening the port, the issues with the OS so quickly still leave a bad taste. If no other issues show up in the next month or two, I will be glad to upgrade my review to 4-stars since despite the issues I have seen, since fixing the OS, this little system has performed quite well.

  *** Update 04/28/2023 ***

  I am not changing my 3-star rating but I did want to provide another update since it has been over a month since I essentially reset this little PC. Everything has continued to work quite well. Right now, I am only using the PC to parse some data from a website, store that in an SQLite database and then upload that database file to an external website, so I am not exactly stressing this system, however, it has continued to work perfectly since I reset it.

  If I were a potential new buyer, I would still be very concerned about the possible security risks. I don't just say that because of the insane number of intrusions my router reportedly blocked. It also boggles my mind that my review is the top review for this product, yet the company has not reached out to me in any way to explain or otherwise acknowledge the potential security risks that I identified and that is concerning to me since I receive correspondence from a ton of other sellers if I just leave a somewhat negative review, without security concerns.

  This little PC seems to work well for what it is but personally, I would only purchase it if you are familiar enough with Windows to be able to immediately 'reset' it just like I was 'forced' to do, otherwise, at this point, given the lack of communication from the seller, I have to assume that my initial impression was correct and the Windows image installed on this PC is broadcasting to some nefarious actors, which you do not want.

  *** Update 05/22/2023 ***

  This will be my last update unless this thing just totally bombs out on me. I will say that at this point I would change my rating to 4-stars, dismissing the early issues and the possible spyware, had the seller/manufacturer actually reached out to me regarding my concerns, however, the lack of monitoring reviews on their end only helps to confirm my suspicions so I am not changing my rating even if they now reach out to me.

  With that said, this little sucker has continued to do well since I 'reset' it and disconnected it from the internet and it would likely make a really good light-weight media server at an affordable price if that is what you are looking for but again, I would strongly recommend wiping it clean first, so you are sure it is not doing anything nefarious.
